Toner Cartridges
A toner cartridge, also known as laser toner, is the consumable component of a laser printer, containing the toner material that is used to produce the image onto paper. Toner is different from ink in that it is a dry, powdery substance. During the laser printing process, the toner is electrically charged so it is attracted to the printer drum. It is then transferred to the paper. To create the permanent image on paper, the fuser melts the laser toner.
OEM Cartridges
OEM, or Original Equipment Manufacturer cartridges are produced by the company that manufactured your printer.
Refill Toner Cartridges
Refurbished toner cartridges, also called recycled or remanufactured toner cartridges, are recycled by companies that specialize in this process. Some re-manufacturing companies will collect original OEM cartridges that can no longer be used. The cartridges are then disassembled and used to create new products.
